Chair Caning 2-Day Course

Chair Caning

This is a two-day course that will introduce you to the most commonly used six way chair caning pattern. After an introduction to the history of furniture caning and a brief demonstration you will be helped with your individual projects.  Tools and materials are supplied, but you will be charged for the cane that you use on your project.


Please bring with you a small chair or stool that needs a new back or seat. You can strip it back before the class, but please take a photo of the old cane pattern and bring a sample of what you cut away so we can replace it with the same size cane. Don’t worry if it’s already been stripped.
